"Fizz" Ehrler

This show is being dedicated to "Fizz" Ehrler, a long time business man and a true Hot Rodder in the truest sense of the word.  "Fizz" owned Ehrler's Repair, and ran a first class custom / radiator / exhaust shop, in Sycamore for more than 25 years. But that's not all, he was a first class fabricator / designer / welder that we all learned from, worked with, and leaned on for first quality work in all of our street rods, customs, and street machines.  He was the first person in the area to install Nova sub-frames and Mustang II front ends. All sorts of engine and drive train brackets, nifty custom tricks, and always good conversation with a big smile.

He also collected and built his own cars, both 4-wheel drive and street rods.  Amongst his trophies are 3 Peterson 4-wheel drive magazine top 10 4x4 of the year awards.  He was a life time member of NSRA, KKOA, GOODGUYS, locally a Charter Member of the "Road Angels Street Rod Club" and for the past 18 years, co-host of the "The Hot Dog Run" on the 4th of July at his shop.

You've probably seen him with his flamed '40 Willys sedan (Dad's Car), or little blue '46 Chevy pickup (Blue Ribbon Express), '46 flamed Chevy 4x4 (Little Short Sucker), or one of a couple of others. HE DROVE ALL of these cars/trucks EVERYWHERE thru some 38 states and Canada in the last 25+ years.

You'd remember Fizz if you talked to him somewhere, 'cause he'd talk your arm off about what you had done to your car and how great your work was, or offer gentle suggestions on how to make it better.

"Fizz" died January 16, 2001 after a long hard fight with cancer, and made the ultimate cruise to HOT ROD HEAVEN.  This show is dedicated to his memory and the good times we all had together.
