The numbers are not making sense to me. The school district and their architect have no firm deal yet on their commission. A school district rep says it is still negotiable. The time to negotiate is from the start. You do not spend this kind of money and perform this kind of project without a set agreement. You should have a contract even if you have a dog house built by someone. Is this how business is being done at the school district. I do not trust the school administration. Just a few months ago they agreed to an increase in impact fees for new construction. Signed, sealed and agreed on by them and voted on unanimously by the City Council. Now they don't have enough money and haven't planned for any future growth. What were they thinking? Most developments currently underway are grandfathered under the old fee structure. Who were they targeting for the new fees? I do not trust Dr. Ali and his staff. I do not trust their numbers and I am worried about spending more for gyms than classrooms. I still need a honest answer about the current bond. Am I voting really voting for a $ 60 million dollar referendum? It looks to me like we are? I have also talked to several ADHOC members and I have come to find out that the support was a very reluctant yes. The kids are important but if we vote wrong are we doing them more harm down the road? I will have to vote NO for this referendum.
