A shake-up or, more appropriately, a cleaning-of-the-house, has been needed at DHS' athletic department for many, many years. Coach Bierman was just the fall guy. His hands were tied when he was hired for the job and he inherited a program that was among Illinois' worst. His firing displayed a lack of class and sent the wrong message. But long time Barbs fans know that is status-quo in the athletic department.
