About

Welcome to the latest new look to DeKalb County Online version 2. This site, dekalbcounty-il.com, is the elder brother to our main website, dekalbcountyonline.com. To cornfuse matters even further, this website mirrors the main website and vice versa. One acts as a backup to the other.

To make more efficient use of the accounts payable that maintaining two separate websites creates we decided to add this blog to this website. We’ve been publishing DeKalb County Online since 1997. Longtime readers will recall the Rants and Raves of Mac McIntyre. This new format will be a rebirth, sorta, of that legendary commentary — only this version gives births to twins: Gracie Mott will add her $2 million dollar opinions as well. Feel free to comment, or to send us two million bucks, anytime you want.

Cornfused? That’s a local word. We use it in these DeKalb County Illinois parts. We’re the home of the flying ear of corn. Well, its birthplace anyways. We’re the county most responsible for taming the Wild, Wild West. Nope. We’re not the home of Wyatt Earp or Bat Masterson. They lived west of here. We’re the home of barb wire. Enough said.

You’ll notice that this site links a lot to the other site and over there its deja vu all over again. Cross-promotion. We hope you enjoy both places and the 3D DeKalb County, too. Come back often and bring your friends.

We will be hosting a Libertarian Party informational event for our candidates at NIU on Saturday 16 January 2010.

We will hold a candidates forum for the Libertarian Party slate. Each candidate will give a short presentation then take direct questions for about five minutes. Once all candidates have made their presentation we will open the floor for general questions as time permits. We will have the Illinois room in the Holmes Student Center from 1 PM until 4 PM for this event.
