When Gracie and I voted around noon today at the Methodist church on N Fourth Street election volunteers told us that voting was real slow. That seems to be the pattern from reports we’ve gotten throughout the day.

Gracie and Chad are out at the poll stations getting results. I’m warm on the inside watching results from the County’s website as well as Kane, Dupage, Winnebago and Ogle Counties
Gracie reports that at the Hillcrest Covenant Church officials told her that they were not posting results on the window. If media wanted to know the results they had to find the janitor before he left.

Chad is reporting that he has yet to count a precinct where the pool referendum got more yes votes than no votes
chad and gracie rock!!!
They are ahead of the county on precincts (and ahead of me, too)
It looks like a loud and resounding NO way on the pool referendum.
It looks like people voted their pocketbooks. Maybe in two years the economy in Illinois will be better?
Gracie: please phone the County Clerk’s office and report the Hillcrest Covenant election officials (if you haven’t already).

Done Lynn. Below is a copy of the email I sent:
I hope our new DeKalb Co. Clerk and Recorder will respond as quickly as Sharon Holmes has. Thank you Ms. Holmes for the quick response.
Gracie, so glad you did!
I’m not surprised at all that the response was prompt and came from the top. Once, I had a complaint of a privacy violation while voting. When I got home I was still upset so I called the number in the phone book and was surprised and impressed when Sharon Holmes herself answered. Since then, I’ve participated as a poll watcher and an election judge as well as a voter. IMO there’s no better model of professionalism than Sharon Holmes in election mode.
Mac, you sure it didn’t have a little to do with the pizza from Pizza Villa and/or the little bit of excitement to see that more voters turned out? I believe the number to be just over 24% voter turnout with Republican ballots over Democratic ballot by double. Old and cranky works also buddy.
